Yorkshire whisky distillery and chocolate maker collaborate for a tasting evening

A Yorkshire coast whisky distillery has teamed up with a Sheffield chocolate maker for an Easter tasting event.

On 29thMarch, Spirit of Yorkshire will host a tasting evening with Bullion Chocolate in the Pot Still Coffee Shop at the Hunmanby based distillery.

During the event, Amy Teasdale, UK Brand Ambassador at Yorkshire's first whisky distillery will pair five Filey Bay whiskies with five different chocolates for visitors to enjoy. She will also talk about the synergies between the distillery's field to bottle process and the chocolate maker's bean to bar ethos.

"We're excited to host this very special tasting event.Easter is all about chocolate so join us on Good Friday to explore the wonderful world of whisky and chocolate and discover why they're so perfect together," said Ms Teasdale.

"Bullion‘s meticulous approach to making chocolate from the first principles chimes instinctively with our way of making whisky. It promises to be a great evening."

The whisky and chocolate tasting event takes place between 7.00 pm and 9.30 pm on 29thMarch. Tickets cost £35 and include five drams and five paired chocolates. They are available to buy from the distillery shop or online at bit.ly/WhiskyAndChocolatePairing.

There will be a fully stocked bar with English wines, Wold Top Beer on tap, soft and alcohol-free drinks, plus coffee and tea.

Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery is one of only a handful of distilleries that grows 100% of the barley used for whisky production.

Bullion is one of only a handful of UK companies to craft chocolate from bean to bar. They import cocoa beans and make chocolate from scratch. Following in the footsteps of craft coffee and craft beer, bean-to-bar craft chocolate carries similar values of small batch, transparency and superior quality. Each single-origin batch is strictly limited in number and represents a never-to-be-repeated opportunity to sample the unique notes and aromas produced by cacao from a particular time and place.
