Drawing inspiration from a semi precious stone that has been highly sought after throughout history and the island where it is found, Milos is a new collection from Utopia that offers a stunning combination of colour, texture and form.

Named after the Greek island which has been a source of obsidian - a black, hard volcanic glass - since antiquity, Milos consists of two bowls, two dishes and a side plate. Made from hard wearing, dishwasher safe stoneware, each piece showcases irregular shapes giving the collection an authentic and natural look.

Meanwhile the metallic glaze sees tones of brown and black combine with a deeply tactile texture creating an impression of natural obsidian.  The subtly shifting colours of the glaze, combined with the primal geological texture, create a striking contrast with food served on it.  Milos can fit in with a wide range of restaurant styles, from fine dining to casual.

The bowls are available in 10 and 16cm diameter while the plates are 22 and 27cm. The side dish, which combines finely judged loose and wide curves, is 14 x 9cm.
