London, United Kingdom, 6thDecember 2023: Celebrating the fabulousness ofindependent publishers and indie authors, and the cheer of the Christmas season, prize-winning UK publicity company, Literally PR (LitPR) returned to Foyles Charing Cross Road last night (5thDecember 2023) with 15 authors all launching on the same night. The biggest and most ambitious event in the company's 13-year history of hosting 100+ book launches, The BIGFestiveIndie Book Launch attracted more than 160 book reviewers, journalists, literary agents, publishers, authors and librarians.

The free-to-attend event was sponsored byCPI, which produce around 2.5 million paperbacks and 300,000 hardbacks a week for indie authors and many of the UK's leading publishing houses.

Following the success of the first BIG Indie Book Launch in July 2023, the festive edition was even bigger and better. Mulled wine, fizz, canapes, lots and lots of festive cheer, plenty of authors to chat with, and new books to discover.

Showcasing the finest that UK indie publishing has to offer, just in time for Christmas, in keeping with the LitPR party tradition, each guest was gifted a bag on arrival. They were then set the challenge of circulating the room to meet all the authors and publishers, collect merch and goodies for their bags, and of course, a few books in exchange for reviews!

Helen Lewis, director and founder of LitPR, which has worked with more than 650 authors/publishers over the past 13 years, says:"I first had the idea to host a BIG book launch for indie authors pre-Covid. Collaboration and creative marketing are imperative to the success of indie authors - they're two of the 10 Cs of our Author Brand Framework*. Then the pandemic hit and I thought it might never become a possibility. Fast forward to 2023, and we have held two BIG Indie Book Launches, and this latest one was such a success based on the incredible amounts of positive feedback we've had from guests and the authors who launched at Foyles last night. Our goal is to level the playing field between indie and trad published authors. For the majority of the 15 authors this was their first in-person book launch and it was a real privilege to host them. There was a genuine feeling of love and festive cheer in the air, and every guest added to that positive atmosphere. We have already opened ourapplicationsfor the next event, and we hope to take one in 2024 outside of London too. Watch this space as we have many more creative ideas to level the playing field for indie authors next year!"
