Taunton, 26th September 2023.

The West Country Women Awards, the prestigious organisationcelebrating and recognising the exceptional achievements of women from Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, and Dorset, proudly announced the semi-finalists for 2023 at a sold-out event held on Tuesday at Somerset County Cricket Club.

The event was attended by more than 100 distinguished guests, including representatives from the four counties and the esteemed sponsors.

The West Country Women Awards aim to shine a spotlight on the remarkable contributions made by women across various fields and industries, acknowledging their hard work, determination, and dedication.

This year's semi-finalists have demonstrated outstanding excellence in their respective categories, embodying the spirit of empowerment and inspiring others.

The event at Somerset County Cricket Club brought together a diverse group of influential individuals, including entrepreneurs, innovators, community leaders, and trailblazers, all committed to celebrating the accomplishments of women in the West Country.

Included in the announcement were the winners of the Devon Women in Business Awards who will be considered alongside the semi finalists as part of a collaborative partnership between the two organisations with the same objective to empower and support women in business.

"We are thrilled to announce the semi-finalists for the West Country Women Awards. These women have achieved remarkable milestones and have positively impacted their communities. Their stories are truly inspiring, and we are proud to honour and recognise their accomplishments," said Tess Stuber, Co-Director of the West Country Women Awards CIC.

Each semi-finalist was carefully selected by a panel of judges, who reviewed a record number of nominations from a wide range of sectors.
The judges faced the challenging task of shortlisting the most deserving candidates, considering the exceptional achievements, leadership qualities and positive influence demonstrated by each nominee.

Alexis Bowater OBE, co-founder of The West Country Women Awards said: "It has been another wonderful day of celebration and networking, meeting nominees and sponsors. We could not do this without the exceptional support of people like our Headline Sponsor Plymouth Citybus and Headline Production Sponsor PL1 Events as well as all of our category sponsors who have generously supported these awards and made it possible to recognise the achievements of women in the region.

"Their commitment to supporting women and promoting gender equality is absolutely outstanding, and their partnership is invaluable in making the awards a resounding success."

The West Country Women Awards will hold the finalists' announcement on October 30th at Powderham Castle in Devon and the winners will be announced at a glitteringgala ceremonyin Plymouth on December 1st, where the ultimate winners in each category will be honoured.
