From 26thOctober to 22ndNovember, Whitewater Contemporary presents the latest collection by respected Polzeath based artist Suki Wapshott.

This new work celebrates Suki's love of the spectacular North Cornwall landscape where she has lived and worked for more than a decade. Inspired by her daily walks along the Padstow, Polzeath and Port Isaac coastline, as well as the view from her studio high above the beach, the exhibition includes medium and large scale works, as well as an intimate series of 10x20cm vignettes, that reflect the beauty and unique north light of the landscape. In these small works, the peace and tranquillity of sand, sea and sky are defined through muted grey and blue tones in sweeping applications of oil colour, freely applied with a palette knife and brush.

Whilst landscape inspires her work, Suki's focus as an artist has always been on emotive expression, achieved through freedom of process and her instinctive approach to colour and composition. Her work is held in private collections in the UK and worldwide.
