HOPE not hate uncovers conspiracy theory plot toviolentlyoverthrow Parliament

HOPE not hate has uncovered messages from a conspiracy theorist group sharing bomb-making manuals as part of attempts to violently overthrow Parliament.

The Magna Carta inspired uprising resulted in failure, but members of the group shared calls for violence and bomb-making manuals.

The anti-extremism group HOPE not hate have alerted the Metropolitan Police of the messages and plans.

Gregory Davis, Researcher at HOPE not hate said:

"Whilst many see conspiracy theorists as whacky but harmless, we're concerned that some extreme groups such as these could turn to violence"

That's why we've reported this conspiracy theorist group to the police - these individuals have crossed over into sharing terrorist materials and advocating violent acts."

What HOPE not hate's researchers have uncovered:

  • The group uncovered by HOPE not hate is anti-vaccine, anti-5G and pro-Common Law.
  • Their social media post was widely shared on the Telegram messaging app calling for a confrontation in Parliament Square between the policy and an army of veterans on August 31stto overthrow Parliament by means of Article 61 of the Magna Carta. 60 people turned up.
  • On the group's Telegram chats there were messages from one member two days prior to the demonstration discussing bomb-making and downloading a terrorist training manual from the dark web, going on to post a PDF to the manual and advising members to save a copy. Another member gave instructions on how to produce ingredients to make a bomb from household products.
  • Other members posted messages about raiding building sites for heavy machinery.
