ABIOLA BELLO NAMED AS FINALIST IN 10TH

BLACK BRITISH BUSINESS AWARDS

 

A person with long hair smilingDescription automatically generatedLondon, United Kingdom: The Black British Business Awards (BBBAwards) have announced Abiola Bello as one of their 2023 finalists ahead of their 10thanniversary ceremony in October. The BBBAwards recognises the exceptional performance of Black professionals and entrepreneurs as the premier awards ceremony of its kind. The BBBAwards ceremony will be held at the InterContinental, Park Lane on 13thOctober.

Abiola Bello says,"I'm still very surprised that I was nominated let alone that I'm a finalist! It's such a huge honour to be recognised in this way. I've worked very hard over my career and sometimes when you work in a small team you can question if you're making an impact. Thank you so much to the Black British Business Awards and I can't wait for October!"

Abiolais Nigerian, born and raised in North London, and a bestselling, award-winning middle-grade/YA author and publisher. Her next YA novel from Simon & Schuster, Only For The Holidays, goes on pre-order the day before the awards ceremony (12thOctober).

Abiola's publishing house,Hashtag Press, is a prize-winning, female-led, indie that she co-runs with publishing publicist Helen Lewis. Hashtag Press is a proud diverse and inclusive traditional publisher that is responsible for myriad bestselling books over the past seven-plus years including Stephanie Nimmo's Was This In The Plan?, Jessica Taylor-Bearman's A Girl Behind Dark Glasses, Sana Rasoul's The Twig Man, and Venessa Taylor's Baller Boys. The Award's theme this year is #WeAre - celebrating the collective power of the Black community and their Allies coming together to drive racial equality in companies in Britain. In 2023, the BBBAwards will showcase the best and the brightest of Black Britain - reflecting on where they have come from and where they are heading as individuals and as a collective.

Abiola Bello is one of just three finalists in the Arts and Media Rising Star category, alongside Aaron Lynch, Senior Manager, Global Creative Marketing, Netflix, and Oluwatobi Demuren, Global Head of Advocacy Marketing, LinkedIn.
