CTEK powers EVC’s electric vehicle charging at Club Company
The partnership is seeing EVC fully fund the installation and maintenance of the award-winning CTEK CC2 dual outlet charging units to power the EVs of members and guests at The Club Company’s venues which offer championship standard golf courses and spas at locations in southern and central England.

The charging installation and management specialist EVC has already begun the EV charging installations, including at Chartham Park in West Sussex. EVC’s fully funded model involves no capital expenditure by the hotel group plus generates revenue through usage of the chargers.

Mark Warne, Group Operations & Estate Director at The Club Company, said: “We are always looking for new ways to improve our member experience and our partnership with EVC will bring a new level of convenience whilst supporting our broader ESG commitments.

“We’re excited to see our members take advantage of our new EV charging facilities and we are proud to be doing our part to help protect the environment.”

Nick Ballamy, CEO at EVC, said: “EVC is delighted to partner with The Club Company to help future-proof their golf courses by installing EV charging across their portfolio of sites.

“This partnership not only showcases The Club Company's forward-thinking approach to sustainability, but also helps improve their overall member experience. Visitors will now have access to convenient EV charging whilst they enjoy their time at these locations, ensuring a more sustainable future for country clubs.”

CTEK, based in Sweden, has sold more than 100,000 charging units. Each CC2 unit can charge two EVs at the same time. In January CTEK won Electric Vehicle Chargepoint Manufacturer of the Year at the UK’s 2023 E-Mobility Awards.

Cecilia Routledge, CTEK’s Global Director Energy and Facilities, said: “A round of golf is an excellent time to enjoy a game in a beautiful setting whilst also charging your EV. We are very pleased to be playing our part supporting this forward looking partnership between EVC and The Club Company.”

EVC this year secured up to £165 million in investment to accelerate its ambition to deliver 100,000 EV charge points across the UK by 2027. CTEK is in a five-year partnership with EVC to supply its AC charging equipment and scalable load balancing solutions.
