Bastille’s Woody Can’t Wait To Bring Anniversary Tour Home To South West

...Because home-turf means mum and dad will be there

“Exeter always welcomes us whenever we play, it’s gonna be awesome

 – Woody from Bastille

As British rock/pop icons, Bastille, prepare to bring the 10th Anniversary tour of their No1 album ‘Bad Blood’ Tour to Exeter in July, drummer, Woody, speaks out about his excitement on coming back to his home turf in the South West England.  The very special one-off show at Powderham Castle, Exeter, on 2 July, will give fans in the South West the opportunity to hear the album played live in its entirety, alongside other fan favourite tracks; and for Devon born Woody, this is the tour date he’s most looking forward to – because mum and dad will be there.

“I genuinely can’t wait to get back on (almost!) home turf, to play to fans in Exeter as part of our Bad Blood X tour,” smiles Woody.  “Powderham Castle is an awesome venue to play - outside under the stars during British summer time, it’s gonna be such a special tour, sharing our anniversary year with you all.  For me it’s extra special as my family will be coming down too, and I’m hoping to see a few Argyle shirts in the crowd! Exeter always welcomes us whenever we play, it’s gonna be awesome."

To pump up the celebrations, Bastille will be joined by the twinkling falsetto tones of Eli Smart, the multi-layered soul vocals of London artist BIM, and UK soul/pop sensation,  Olivia Dean.  All hand-picked by Bastille for their outstanding and distinctive vocal ability, this stunning range of star guests promises to turn Powderham Castle into a palace of phenomenal performance this summer.  And Woody can’t wait to share it with Mum, Dad and every one of you!

Editor’s Notes

Bastille: Hailed as a trailblazing album, ‘Bad Blood’ featured the international hit, Pompeii’ and became the biggest-selling digital album of 2013. Bastille became that years biggest-selling global breakthrough act, with over 1 billion Spotify streams earning them the British Breakthrough Act award at the 2014 Brits, along with two Grammy nominations. Since then, Bad Blood’ has gone on to achieve triple platinum status with over 1 million copies sold in the UK alone.

In 2022, Bastille released their fourth album, the No.1, critically acclaimed record, ‘Give Me The Future’. Called, “Their best album” by both Rolling Stone and Clash and, “the most expansive, yet cohesive record Bastille have put their name to” by NME, ‘Give Me The Future’ explores a futuristic wonderland free from restrictions. Brimming with literary, cinematic, and cultural references to films like Thelma & Louise, the artist Keith Haring and musicians like Phil Collins and The Police, the album is filled with danceable dreamscapes, providing an escapist universe where you can travel back and forward in time to be anyone, do anything, and embrace a new wave of technology, which enables us to get lost inside our imagination.

In 2022, the band completed an extensive sold-out UK arena tour, followed by sold-out shows in both the US and South America. Next up they take the ‘Give Me The Future’ tour to Europe playing thirteen shows across 10 countries.
