Double delight for Q-Park with prestigious
Park Mark Plus awards
Q-Park are delighted to announce that their facilities at Birmingham City Hospital and Sandwell General Hospital have achieved the highest standard in parking accreditations.
Building on the well-regarded Safer Parking Scheme's Park Mark award, the new Park Mark Plus recognises only the highest quality car parks. The award assesses a range of criteria from services and operations to design and build. To qualify for the award, the car park must meet Park Mark and Disability Parking Accreditation criteria as a minimum. Customer expectations for well-managed, high-quality car parks are exerting demand on the sector to deliver excellent services and enhanced customer experience whilst caring for the environment. Technology is also playing a growing role in delivering a seamless and efficient customer experience.
Q-Park opened the new facilities in 2022 and they provide nearly 1000 parking spaces which has significantly eased parking pressure across the Hospital Estates for both patients and staff as well as easing general mobility around the local area. Their local operational team have worked tirelessly to offer a smooth operation of the new facilities as well as the existing surface car parks, some of which can now be redeveloped to provide more clinical space for the respective hospitals.
Environmental sustainability is a key focus of this award; the assessment included the availability of electric charging bays, of which both facilities have numerous, and energy-saving equipment. The car parks provide motorcycle parking with helmet lockers, a bug hotel, solar panels and some other unique design features.
Adam Bidder, Managing Director of Q-Park commented "Q-Park has always been synonymous with offering the most safe and secure parking facilities in industry. We are delighted to have been recognised by the British Parking Association for the confidence that we provide to our customers regarding the safety of their property. We look forward to receiving more Park Mark Plus Awards in the near future."
Matthew Robinson BPA Area Manager said: "I am delighted that Birmingham City Hospital MSCP and Sandwell General Hospital MSCP have achieved the Park Mark Plus award, demonstrating their hard work and commitment to provide a safe environment for users."
