Local jobs created as new Starbucks® store opens in Brighton
Tuesday 21 March 2023, UK: A new Starbucks® store, operated by Sussex founded licensee Cobra Coffee, will be opening tomorrow on London Road, Brighton, creating 10 new local jobs.
To celebrate the opening, the store will be offering 50 lucky customers complimentary reusable cups during the first week.
Cobra Coffee is part of Southern Co-op, which was recognised for its sustainability efforts with a Queen's Award for Enterprise in 2022.
Callum Gosling, Store Manager,said: "This is my fifth year within Cobra Coffee as I started out at the Starbucks in Brighton's Western Road.
"Opening the London Road store will be the biggest and most exciting challenge so far, and I am looking forward to building a great team to become a bigger part of the Brighton and Hove store team."
To reduce food waste, the new store will offer Too Good To Go from April - a leading surplus food app connecting customers to restaurants and stores that have unsold food.
Customers are invited to enjoy the brand new Iced Toasted Vanilla Oat Shaken Espresso and Starbucks® UK proudly serves a broad range of dairy alternative optionsfor free. Customers can also try Starbucks Eggs Bites now available with Red Pepper and Spinach.
Team member Matthew added:"I am very excited for the store to finally open. We've got an excellent team and I'm excited for us to all be one big group working in one store as a family."
The store has a contemporary design, with a selection of indoor seating, offering customers the opportunity to enjoy a handcrafted cup of coffee and relax with free wi-fi. Customers can order via the Starbucks UK App, available for iPhone® and Android™, to order ahead, skip the queue and collect to takeaway. Delivery will also be fully available within the month to all customers via Uber Eats and Deliveroo.
Starbucks is committed to 100% ethically sourced coffee in partnership with Conservation International. The cornerstone of its ethical sourcing approach to buying coffee is Coffee and Farmer Equity (C.A.F.E.) Practices.
Starbucks offers a 25p discount to all customers who bring a reusable cup when purchasing a drink.
The new store is located at Unit 2b 119-123 London Road, BN1 4JG, and will be open from 7:00am to 6:00pm Monday to Saturday, 8:00am to 5:00pm Sundays.
This is the 65th store operated by Cobra Coffee which became part of the Southern Co-op family in 2018 - the regional co-operative based in Portsmouth which is celebrating its 150th birthday this year.
