Celebrate Mothering Sunday in Steam Style!

Looking for a memorable way to celebrate Mothering Sunday this year, that the whole family can enjoy? The Kent & East Sussex Railway has the answer with itsspecial Mother's Day steam trainservices on Sunday 19 March. 


Memorable Mother's Day aboard our trains


Sit back in comfort in one of the beautiful heritage carriages and take a wonderful steam train journey through ten and a half miles of unspoilt Wealden countryside whilst enjoying a Ploughman's Lunch or a Cream Tea served at your seat. Passengers can experience stunning views of the Rother Valley - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - as the train meanders from the historic market town of Tenterden to the pretty country station at Bodiam, a stone's throw from the historic ruin of Bodiam Castle.


Ploughman's Lunches are available aboard the 12:30pm departure and Cream Teas aboard the 3:30pm departure - both leaving from Tenterden Town Station, where there is free customer parking. 


Seats will be reserved for your party and the K&ESR's friendly team will serve all pre-booked refreshments, accompanied by tea or coffee, during the journey. And why not give a touch of sparkle to the trip by adding a bottle of Prosecco! To make Mum feel even more special, if you book refreshments with your tickets you can also purchase an additional gift for just £8.95 which will be presented to her at the end of the journey.

Online fares for additional travel tickets are £24.50 per Adult and £13.50 per Child (3-15 years). The Ploughman's Lunch and Cream Tea are both priced at £9.50 per person. TheArt DecoTea Roomat Tenterdenwillbe open throughout the day,serving light refreshments to eat in or take on the train.
