New Craftsman Gallery is pleased to present the latest collection in young painter Will Calver's rapidly ascending career. Will's new exhibition comprises fifteen beautiful paintings, each an investigation of simple, everyday subjects from his home, garden, and the rural world in which his studio is set. Painting ‘alla-prima' from life is a process which draws him in to a close relationship with his subjects, each of which contains elements of what he refers to as "quietude, monumentality and presence". His works aim to highlight the subtle power and radiance of simple objects, and to celebrate the genre and history of still-life painting.

Will graduated with a BA Hons in Fine Art from Falmouth University in 2019, and now paints full time at his studio in rural Kent. After graduating, Will held his first solo exhibition at the New Craftsman Gallery, and has since exhibited at the London Academy of Representational Art, at Porthmeor Studios St Ives, and at Mall Galleries London where he received the Best Small Portrait Award from the Royal Society of Portrait Painters.
