The team at a North Yorkshire farm shop and café are celebrating after winning a prestigious regional business award.

Pickering business, Cedarbarn Farm Shop and Café has won the award for the Family Business of the Year in the 31stYork PressBusiness Awards.

Cedarbarn co-founder, Mandy Avison said: "We're over the moon to win this amazing award. We faced tough competition from two lovely family businesses, so we're surprised, but naturally delighted to win!We were particularly pleased with the judges' feedback that our staff were ‘passionate about everything'!"

The team at Cedarbarn Farm Shop and Café were presented with the award at adinner at York Racecourse that was attended by 600 people.

Cedarbarn Farm Shop and Café has also been shortlisted in theScarborough NewsBusiness Awards and has reached the final of the ‘Taste' category of theYorkshire PostTourism Awards. The winners of both awards will be announced in December.

Cedarbarn Farm Shop and Café began as a small PYO strawberries operation from acaravan 26 years ago andnow is a thriving farm shop and café that sources a large percentage of its produce from its own farm and a neighbouring farm, supplemented with local suppliers.
