The event provided a fantastic opportunity for business professionals in the Swindon and Wiltshire area to network and listen to inspirational talks, the prestigious event managed to raise over £300 for STEP Swindon, a charitable organisation which provides a safe and supportive environment for children and young people aged between 7 and 18.

This event has now taken PPS Chartered Accountants' total charitable donations to over £5,000 since the company started this fundraising tradition.

STEP Swindon aims to give support and help any young person who has experienced isolation or exclusion due to either their lack of social skills, personal circumstances or poverty. They achieve this by implementing therapeutic group work to enable children to make a positive contribution to society through the delivery of life and social skills, with recognition of achievement through accreditation. The Project Director of the charity, Johanna Bryant, was very grateful for the money raised, and said: "I cannot possibly express my gratitude enough for the efforts that PPS Chartered Accountants have gone through to help us in our efforts to aid young people in managing their own lives. The funds raised from this brilliant event will be used to keep our weekly two-hour sessions running, as well as to organise sports days and barbeques over the summer months to encourage socialising and engaging in fun."

The charity lunch played host to multi award-winning motivational speaker Tommy Hatto, who in recognition of International Men's Day on the 19th of November delivered a talk to discuss why there is strength in vulnerability, and how we can all advocate for men to open up about their wellbeing, especially in the workplace. He openly discussed the journey that led him to where he is today and provided encouragement and advice as to why taking courageous steps will ultimately lead us all to have a better work environment.

In attendance at the important occasion was the Mayor of Swindon, Councillor Abdul Amin. He spoke of the event: "It is such an honour to be here today in support of a wonderful cause; every child has the right to grow up surrounded by love, care and attention and therefore we are very grateful to STEP Swindon for continuing to change the lives of many children for the better."

A fun raffle also took place during the day, with some amazing prizes such as a voucher for a full body massage from Bloomin Beautiful and a 6-week Virtual Wellbeing training one-by-one provided by Tommy Hatto Online available to win. All proceeds from this went directly to STEP Swindon as well.

The host for the PPS Business Charity Lunch was Sally Holland. She had this to say about the event: "PPS Chartered Accountants has grown significantly in the past 30 years, and the real positive impact it has had on so many other firms and individuals is great to see. Hopefully this great event will shine a light on the positive impact that PPS Chartered Accountants has had on businesses, individuals and the wider community as a whole."
