Pickering farm shop shortlisted in Scarborough Business Awards
The team at a North Yorkshire farm shop and café are celebrating after reaching the final of a regional business award.
Pickering business, Cedarbarn Farm Shop and Café has been shortlisted in the Independent Business category in the eighth Scarborough Excellence in Business Awards.
Cedarbarn co-founder, Karl Avison said: "We're a truly independent business with links to the local area that go back four generations. We're very proud and honoured to have won a place in the final with some great local businesses and are looking forward to celebrating the best of the area's businesses next month."
Cedarbarn Farm Shop and Café face competition from Escape Rooms Scarborough, Lindy Lou Artisan Cakes and The Farrier, Cayton. The teamwill learn whether they have been successful at an awards ceremony at The Scarborough Spa on Thursday, 1stDecember. The judging team comprisesLouise Perrin from the Scarborough News editorial team, Angela Fletcher from the awards' headline sponsor, Happy Futures and industry professionals, Cllr Phillip Trumper and former finalist, George Roberts.
Organised by the Scarborough News, the Excellence in Business awards recognise and reward a cross-section of businesses and the vital role they play in the community and the economic success of the region.
Cedarbarn Farm Shop and Café began as a small PYO strawberries operation from acaravan 26 years ago andnow is a thriving farm shop and café that sources a large percentage of its produce from its own farm and a neighbouring farm supplemented with local suppliers.
