A Yorkshire Wolds brewery reaches the final of a regional family business award

 

The team at a Yorkshire Wolds brewery is celebrating after reaching the final of a regional award that champions family businesses.

 

Wold Newton business, Wold Top has been shortlisted in the Food and Drink Producers category of the Yorkshire and Humberside Family Business Awards 2022.

 

Kate Balchin, director at the brewery and the fourth generation to run a family business at Hunmanby Grange, said: "Yorkshire is home to some amazing family food and drink businesses so we're very proud to be included in the final four. We're looking forward to meeting up with fellow family businesses at next month's awards dinner."

 

Winners at the inauguralYorkshire and Humberside Family Business Awards will be announced on 11thNovember at Headingley Stadium byBBC Broadcaster and artisan food expert, Nigel Barden.

 

Wold Top faces competition fromYorkshire Flapjack Ltd, Little Wold Vineyard and The Yorkshire Pasta Company.

Wold Top was founded in 2003 by Mrs Balchin's parents, Tom and Gill Mellor on the family farm at Hunmanby Grange.
