Yorkshire Wolds rapeseed oil business reaches final of regional awards

 

The team at a Thixendale-based rapeseed oil business is celebrating after its oil was shortlisted in the deliciouslyorkshire Taste Awards.

 

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil's Oak Smoked Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil has reached the final in the Best Pantry category in what is regarded as the largest food and drink awards programme in the region.

 

"Our Oak Smoked Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil is a fantastic collaboration between us and Staal Smokehouse and has been one of our most popular products for over a decade. We're super proud to be shortlisted and always look forward to the awards dinner - it's a great opportunity to meet up with fellow food and farming businesses," said Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil founder, Adam Palmer.

 

Head Judge, BBC Broadcaster and artisan food expert Nigel Barden said: "Yet again Yorkshire has come up trumps! Thanks to a record number of entries again this year we've had the pleasure of judging a huge variety of top-quality Yorkshire food, drink and businesses and as ever, narrowing it down into a shortlist for each category has been a challenge!" 

 

Fellow finalists includeSide Oven Bakery, Yockenthwaite Farm and Henderson's.

The winners will be announced at a dinner at thePavilions of Harrogate on Wednesday, 9th November, whenNigel Barden and chef consultant, Steph Moon will host an evening of champagne, local food and celebration.

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil has also been shortlisted in the Family Business of the Year category of the York Press Business Awards and will learn whether they have been successful on 25thNovember.
