Pickering farm shop wins rural business award

 

The team at a North Yorkshire farm shop and café are celebrating after winning a prestigious regional business award.

 

Pickering business, Cedarbarn Farm Shop and Café has won the award for the best Farm Shop in the sixthYorkshire PostRural Awards.

 

Cedarbarn co-founder, Mandy Avison said: "We're over the moon to win this amazing award. We faced tough competition from bigger businesses, so we're surprised, but delighted to win!"

 

The team at Cedarbarn Farm Shop and Café were presented with the award at adinner at The Pavilions in Harrogate that was attended by 300 people.

 

Cedarbarn Farm Shop and Café has also been shortlisted for the York Press Family Business award and has reached the final in two categories of the deliciouslyorkshire Taste awards. The winners of both awards will be announced in November.

 

Cedarbarn Farm Shop and Café began as a small PYO strawberries operation from acaravan 26 years ago andnow is a thriving farm shop and café that sources a large percentage of its produce from its own farm and a neighbouring farm, supplemented with local suppliers.
