EnviroBuild is excited to announce that it will be hosting a landmark event to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the London Design Festival.
This milestone event will take place on the 5th of October from 18:00-22:00 at the X + Why, People’s Mission Hall at Whitechapel (20-30 Whitechapel Road, London, E1 1EW). In a bid to inspire more people to embrace sustainable design, EnviroBuild will be bringing together multi-award winning industry experts from all areas of the sustainable design process under one roof to share their very best tips and advice in implementing environmentally friendly practices in their work.
Sustainable building design requires the structure and processes used by construction companies to be both environmentally responsible and resource-efficient. Embracing renewable energy and recycled materials as much as possible throughout the entire lifecycle of the building is of utmost importance to reach carbon emission targets. This includes design, construction, maintenance, renovation and demolition. Construction companies also need to continue their efforts in preserving the surrounding environment and improving the living conditions, health and wellbeing of the building's occupants, as this all ties in with our universal desire to make the world a better place for current and future generations.
This will all be discussed at the event, with a holistic 360O approach taken and design at the centre of the talks. Each speaker will be sharing their expertise, experiences and obstacles they have overcome in designing offices for a green circular economy in the form of short talks, followed by a panel discussion on “The Future of Sustainable Office Design”. Following this, there will be plenty of time for industry networking and further discussion around refreshments and drinks.
The speakers in attendance will be as follows:
Dr Aidan Bell - co-founder of EnviroBuild
Lidia Guerra - Senior Engineer & Partner at Max Fordham
Mike McMahon - Architect & Designer at Eric Parry Architects
Ariane Ephraïm - Sustainability Manager at Workspace
Hulusi Mustafa - Environmental & Sustainability Manager at Overbury
Susan Randall - Sustainable Solutions Adviser at Rype Office
Dr Aidan Bell, spokesperson for EnviroBuild and one of the panellists for the event, is looking forward to the reception,
“I cannot be more excited for this anniversary event. First of all, I would like to thank the London Design Festival for hosting us at such a beautiful venue on behalf of EnviroBuild; we hope that a lot of people are able to attend. We also hope that this event proves both useful and fun in equal measure; our panel of experts will no doubt bring to light the best ways in which we can reduce our carbon footprint and make the world a greener and safer space”.
EnviroBuild believes it is very important to bring construction experts together and communicate effectively when it comes to implementing sustainable practices in their manufacturing and design processes. With the construction industry being one of the largest users of global resources and contributors to pollution, it is vital to adopt greener practices which will enable the UK to reach their net zero ambitions. The assumption of sustainable building design plays a key role in this.
EnviroBuild hopes that this event is enjoyed by all and
creates an incentive for those attending to start thinking about their impact
on the environment and making changes to reduce this impact. You can sign up
for the event for free by following this link and more information regarding the
speakers can be found on the London Design Festival website.
