A leading local homes provider is backing a national campaign aimed at tackling anti-social behaviour (ASB) as it strives to build stronger, safer communities across Staffordshire and Shropshire.

The Homes Plus community safety team has a vital role in supporting customers and has joined efforts to raise awareness of the issue during ASB Awareness Week (July 18 - 24), which was launched in Parliament on Monday.

Organised by Resolve, community safety specialists, the week is supported by the Home Office, Local Government Association, National Police Chiefs' Council and the National Fire Chiefs' Council as well as many local organisations across the Country, including Homes Plus.

Julie Harvey, community safety manager at Homes Plus, explained: "We already work with local councils, the police and other agencies to reduce ASB, and to respond appropriately when incidents are reported to us.

"Anti-social behaviour has a significant impact on people's mental health and sense of security, and it harms the wider community. We respond robustly to any reports of ASB involving our residents."

The safety and wellbeing of residents and communities remains the top priority of Homes Plus. We work with both the perpetrators and those affected by ASB to try to reach agreement and resolve any issues.  Where this cannot be achieved, we will use all the powers available to us, which could in the most serious cases result in someone being evicted from their home.

Throughout ASB Awareness Week, Homes Plus has been playing its part by highlighting the ways customers and other members of the community can report their concerns, and the support available.

Julie added: "We are wholeheartedly behind this campaign that fits well with our mission to make a positive difference to homes, lives and communities."

Any incidents of ASB can be reported 24/7, through a dedicated section of the Homes Plus website atwww.homesplus.co.uk/report-asb.

Please remember that if you are in immediate danger, you should always call the police on 999.
