Utopia brings the whites and
off-whites to the tabletop
To skip the light fandango with
tableware choose a whiter shade of pale. Utopia says the next big trend will be
for whites and off-whites. Not so much
with traditional white ware, but rather the not-quite-whites with textures and
organic shapes. Far from being bland,
these tones can deliver a sophisticated impact to the tabletop, creating a
subtly dramatic design.
Market leader Utopia has nailed the art of the white in its Beyond the Pale theme of tableware. In this cluster of pale beauties are sixteen different collections, ranging from pure white to ultra-pale colours. All collections are dishwasher safe and some are supplied with Utopia’s five year edge chip warranty.
The unusually shaped Lyra range of textured porcelain is great way to add depth to a presentation. The deep, bulbous ceramic plates create height and a truly individual serve. Hessian is another vitrified porcelain collection with irregular shapes. As the name suggests it features a textured surface further enhanced by a low sheen glaze giving a casual appearance.
Utopia’s Umbra tableware colourway brings pastoral charm to the tabletop. Featuring a wash of white, with a brown rim and random speckling, each piece is hand finished to give a unique appearance. Umbra makes a perfect backdrop for all types of dining from simple fare to the exquisite servings of top chefs.
To add a hint of colour try Avebury Blue or Avebury Red. These stunning collections of decorated stoneware are designed to give the impression of classic rimmed enamel tableware. Complete with imitation chips incorporated into the glaze.
For a more earthy look, the light textured tones and contrasting matte and gloss areas of the Temple collection not only add interest but create a perfect backdrop, lifting the colours of a dish. Crafted from superior stoneware with simple, contemporary Temple includes walled plates and deep bowls currently some of chefs’ favourite choices.
In today’s busy eateries tableware takes quite a bashing. Utopia’s Titan collection matches up to its name in that it has been created to offer practical and durable solutions without compromising superb presentation. A pure white high gloss finish, it’s a comprehensive range of super vitrified porcelain that covers all of the market's requirements from oven to tableware from breakfast, lunch, tea through to dinner.
“Whites and off-whites are growing as a trend globally,” says Josh Rammell, marketing manager at Utopia. “Here at Utopia we’re in a great position to be ahead of the pack with our Beyond the Pale themed collections.”
