Rational holds seminar on the future of Asian kitchens
What’s the future of Asian kitchens?  Rational seminar will seek answers

Top contemporary British Asian restauranteurs to discuss issues facing the industry

Rational is hosting an online seminar focussing on the future of Asian kitchens on Monday 13th June. It will feature some of the biggest names in contemporary British Asian cuisine who will be discussing some of the challenges facing the industry and how modern technology can help to overcome them.

The catering industry as a whole is facing huge challenges, including rising prices and staff shortages. For Asian restaurants these problems can be compounded by the difficulty of finding chefs with the experience of creating Asian food. Modern cooking systems like those from Rational can provide an solution to these issues, and the seminar will look at how they have helped members of the panel as well as discussing the wider opportunities they can create.

The seminar will be hosted by award winning chef Rehan Uddin, owner of Indi-Yang and managing director of the Asian Restaurant Owners Network (ARON). Joining him will be Kwaz Ali, founder of Indian Restaurant Staff; Dipna Anand, Chef PatronDipna Anand Restaurant & Bar and Somerset House, and owner of the Brilliant Restaurant; Cyrus Todiwala, chef proprietor of Café Spice Namasté; and Chef Jolly (Surjan Singh), CEO of Jolly Good Hospitality Ltd;

Amongst the topics that will be discussed are staff recruitment and skill shortages.  The panel will look at the potential of intelligent kitchens in meeting not only the challenge of staff issues but also helping to save costs and improve energy efficiency, as well as increasing production flexibility and diversifying your menu.

“Rational’s online seminar series has been very well received,” says Adam Knights, marketing director of Rational UK. “We are committed to finding new and engaging ways of providing information and perspectives to the industry, while discussing how to meet the challenges foodservice operators face.”

Attendees will get a chance to hear panel members’ experiences of using Rational’s iKitchen concept, which allows the iVario Pro and iCombi Pro to work together thanks to the ConnectedCooking platform, and how embracing modern ways of working can help improve your business, meet sustainability targets and save money.
