1.    Who is Tradelink and what will I see if I visit a Tradelink Window Center?

Tradelink is one of the UK’s leading privately-owned manufacturers of windows, doors and conservatories to the commercial and residential markets. Our Window Centers showcase our products so that customers to visit and speak with trained experts in the field. Homeowners can come to see the products in the flesh and work with us and their chosen installer to find the perfect solution.

2.    Where are the Window Centers and how do I buy Tradelink products if I do not live close to one?

Our Centers are located in Rotherham, Stoke, Welwyn Garden City, Mildenhall and March. We are planning to open in other locations further south of the country later on this year - and beyond. If you can’t physically visit a Center, then contact us anyway and we can put you in touch with a local installer who will have a showroom with our products in, or we can send one of our field advisors to visit a trade customer and assist them.

3.    What is the difference in all the window/door materials – features and benefits so that I can decide which ones I should be selecting?

This is where we can help by bringing 30 years of experience to the customer. Every installation is different and we will help guide you through the selection of the right material - be that UPVc, composite or aluminium as well as what styles or technical features you will benefit from - and also the things to avoid.

4.    Are different materials and styles dictated by the age/period/style of the building? Pre-Victorian, Victorian, and onwards to new build?

Very much so.  We often see period properties where the external appearance has been cheapened and the character fundamentally changed by the inappropriate selection of a window type.

5.    What standards and guarantees should I be aware of?

All of our products carry a standard 10-year warranty as you would expect and, by the way, we have now outlived that guarantee three times over so you can be assured when buying from us. We also manufacture to current BS and ISO standards and, where required, PAS24 and Secured by Design enhanced security products are also readily available from us.

6.    What trends do you see in terms of doors, windows, conservatories, orangeries and accessories?

We have and continue to see a trend for quality, assurance, and peace of mind over price. Competitiveness is very much in our minds, of course, but we are renowned not just for the quality of our product but also our service and reliability. Contemporary colours and styles are very popular with grey being the dominant colour, but traditional white windows are still very much the mainstay of our business. The differences now are the choice of foils and surface finishes available giving customers an enormous range of options.

7.    What styles are timeless as I want the new windows and doors to last forever?

As a previous point, this is very much about selecting the right style, colour choice and overall finish of the window relative to the building in which the products are being installed. Typically, a casement (side opening) window is the most popular style, but we also see a strong and continuing trend for large glass areas with slimmer profiles and our RiOs or seamless welded products achieve all of this with ease.

8.    How can I be sure of security? What should I look out for/ask for?

As a reputable manufacturer, you can always be assured of the highest management and quality standards which is key to ensuring that any product is fit for purpose, and as a recognised PAS24 and Secured by Design Accredited manufacturer, security is built in as standard.

9.    Are the products environmentally friendly as I want the building to be?

Yes is the short answer! UPVc and aluminium are some of the most sustainable materials for manufacturing products such as windows, doors and conservatories. But do ask us and we’ll be happy to tell more!

10.And lastly, why should I select a Window Center? Can I choose an independent installer if I need to?

A Window Center really is the choice when buying these products as you will be able to see the full range of what is available, with expert knowledge on hand to help. We work with accredited installers and can happily recommend an installer that is not only local, but has the experience in dealing with your specific requirements.

Tradelink currently has five Window Centers with new locations scheduled to open throughout 2023.  For further information, please visit https://tradelinkdirect.com
