Brushing up - world's first eco friendly electric toothbrush is set to launch

A product which has been hailed as the first eco-friendly electric toothbrush is set to launch this spring.

The new BIO MAX, from UK-based sustainable product specialist Bambooi Beauty & Care, uses 100% plant-based materials which are both recyclable & biodegradable...handle, brush heads & bristles included.

If that sounds ideal for those with a passion for protecting the planet, consumers may also be interested to learn that even the interior casing is made from the classic British pudding favourite, tapioca!

Bambooi also uses 100% less plastic in their packaging when compared to other electric toothbrushes currently on the market.

Bambooi HQ is located in the seaside town of South Shields. Its founder, youngster Lewis Bryden, now aged 21 discovered early in his career the devastating effects that plastic waste from the beauty & care industry was having on our planet and vowed to provide sustainable beauty & care alternatives that were not only good for the planet but were good for consumers too.

Along with the sugarcane used to make its handle, the new BIO MAX electric toothbrush uses cornstarch for its brush heads (a notable departure from the usual plantsapping sources), castor oil to strengthen its bristles and of course bamboo fibre for the bristle filaments.

Lewis concludes:
