A uniform framework for investigating Damp and Mould

Industry Leaders Property MOT® release a White Paper in response to the Housing Ombudsman report

Portsmouth, 14thMarch 2022 - A 2018 survey suggested that approximately 9% of the four million housing association homes suffered damp and mould issues. Whilst improvements have been made, recent media coverage and the Housing Ombudsman reports clearly indicate issues remain with how such hazards are managed.

In response, industry experts Property MOT® have developed a framework for investigating damp and mould, to support Housing Associations and Landlords manage complex Disrepair claims with effective resolutions. This framework has been designed to deliver a uniform, constant and proactive approach to managing the health of a structure and ultimately, the occupants. Thus either providing evidence against or revoking legal claims in their entirety alongside upholding the Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act 2018.

Backed by The Property Health Alliance the White Paper can be downloaded by visiting https://propertyhealthalliance.co.uk/a-uniform-framework-for-investigating-damp-and-mould/ or by contacting David Bly directly on 01243 200573 or emailpropertymot@cornerstone-ltd.co.uk.
