THE RECYCLING ASSOCIATION WELCOMES LEE THICKETT AS HEAD OF UK OPERATIONS FOR TRAQA

Lee Thickett has joined digital traceability and compliance business Traqa as head of UK operations.

The Recycling Association is the main shareholder of Traqa.

Lee was previously at Palm Paper and was there for almost 13 years.

His new role will see him overseeing the roll-out of Traqa both within The Recycling Association's membership, but also to non-members.

The Recycling Association chief executive Simon Ellin said: "I'm delighted to welcome Lee to Traqa, knowing he will bring enthusiasm and experience to the roll-out of the product.

"It is a significant moment for us, as it shows our development as an organisation representing the interests of our members and the wider recycling industry through the expansion of our Traqa software.

"I am very pleased with the traction the development of Traqa is gaining. It digitises the whole recycling export process, thus streamlining operations. It also facilitates the traceability of materials and the sharing of data to achieve ultimate compliance. It means anyone in the recycling industry that moves material can streamline their processes, while shippers will benefit from the seamless transfer of data.

"We are committed to rolling out the product to the wider industry and forming partnerships with users as well as regulators at home and abroad.

"Lee brings a wealth of experience and contacts with load sites through his previous work with Palm and we look forward to him integrating Traqa into these."

Traqa has been developed by The Recycling Association and its development partners over the past few years. It is now being used by several companies that belong to the Association.

It connects to weighbridges at load sites and digitises all of the export processes. This means that from the site to end destination, each part of the supply chain is kept informed with essential information and documentation. It also means regulatory information such as Annex VII forms can be shared securely and seamlessly with UK environment agencies and customs authorities abroad.
