- Having been temporarily forced to close her shop in London's OXO Tower during Covid Katherine Elizabeth Millinery and Business Academy launched a membership-based online millinery school. This has now grown by 200%.
- She started a Facebook group called Inspiring Creative Milliners (ICM), which is an online community aimed at both newbies and established milliners with a view to providing a space for them to share tips and tricks with one another.
Due to the decrease in demand from the hat-making side of the business, Katherine was able to turn her full attention to the academy and ICM group. Katherine became a beacon of hope for many - providing tips on coping with anxiety, motivation, mindfulness, business tips, how to organise yourself, and creativity.
Both the Academy and ICM group excelled during 2020, with over 400 new members joining the academy and 3.9k members in the ICM Facebook group. Many of the participants have even set up their own businesses and won awards for their designs. These include the British Feltmakers Craftsmanship Awards Won by Fleur Curtis (@oscar_and_willow) and Hat of the month in the HatTalk Magazine by Yvonne Cunnington as well as the QEST scholarship being offered to Rachael Clunie (@rachaelcluniemillinery).
Today, October 12th, she re-opens the doors to her academy: www.millineryandbusinessacademy.com
Monthly membership fee is on offer for just £42 if people join by this Friday, the price from Friday will go up to £45 per month.
(Katherine's standalone millinery courses start at £120 - £250 including some private tuition)

Katherine also put on free challenges to get everyone creating, and these have been attended by over 3000 people.
