Helping chefs maximise productivity by utilising
their Rational cooking systems
Rational is showing how its
technology can help with staff shortages by focusing on the subject in its
training programmes. “We want to ensure
that operators with our intelligent cooking systems can exploit this key
benefit,” says Adam Knights, marketing director of Rational UK. “By developing cooking systems with this
level of intelligence, Rational has created a solution for many of the problems
we will face in the post-pandemic, post-Brexit world – especially the need to
be more productive with fewer people.”
Rational’scooking systems have in-built intelligence, in the
shape of the advanced iCookingSuite technology.
It gives the systems the ability to take over the cooking process,
letting chefs get on with other tasks.
It can recognise the food’s weight, size and condition and it will
automatically adjust cooking parameters to ensure chef gets the best possible
results. “Chefs can rely on the
iCookingSuite to assess, monitor and complete cooking processes – tasks that
would have taken up the time of one or more members of the kitchen brigade team
in the past,” says Knights. In other
words, it’s like having an extra assistant in the kitchen – and can be a
crucial aid in any kitchen facing the problem challenge of staff shortages
In fact, iCookingSuite actually
learns from its users, so that it copies preferred cooking habits and results. Of course, if chefs want to add a new touch
to the food, they can intervene at any point during the cooking process.
“Staff turnover can mean that
the knowledge gained during training is lost, and that our customers revert to
manual operation instead of taking advantage of the intelligent cooking
systems,” says Knights. “To avoid them
having to do that we are offering continuous training, so customers can carry
on operating the cooking systems to their maximum potential.
“All our customers are welcome
to participate in our continuous training programmes, however new or old their
Rational cooking system is.”
Operators have a choice of how
they access the Rational training programmes.
