Sarah Woods | Between the Sea and Sky, Porthmeor

On show as part of this year's St Ives September Festival, New Craftsman Gallery presents an exhibition by painter and printmaker Sarah Woods. Like so many artists drawn west over the centuries, Falmouth University Fine Art graduate Sarah makes work that responds uniquely and subjectively to the landscape. This beautiful collection showcases the artist's talent for striking simplicity, and achieves a pure and perfect translation of Cornwall's unique light, wide spaces and low-key colour.September Collectionis inspired by studies of the West Cornwall coast during the summer months and captures the calm, almost meditative feeling which comes from spending time beside the ocean.
