Q-Park sign exclusive mobility charging hubs

agreement with bp

Q-Park and bp have signed an agreement to rollout bp pulse mobility charging hubs across the Q-Park estate in London and other major UK cities.

This industry first agreement will provide electric charging for businesses in the capital with the potential to expand into other regions.

This partnership fits perfectly with the Q-Park strategy of supporting the UK electric transformation whether this is to help support business fleets with the switch from fossil fuel to electric or using the facilities for electric fleets to fulfil the last mile logistics to reduce delivery mileage and emissions. bp's ambition is to become a net zero company by 2050 or sooner and help the world get to net zero. Electrification is at the heart of its convenience and mobility strategy and bp aims to grow its operated network of EV charging points to over 70,000 worldwide by 2030.

The landscape changes within the multi-functional parking facilities creates the need for a significant growth in charging hub infrastructure and this partnership will result in a rapid growth of new EV chargers which will range from 50kw to up to 150kw at selected locations.

The inclusion of charging hubs reinforces the Q-Park ethos of supporting and actively contributing to a carbon-neutral urban environment. This charging network for business fleets complements the recent national roll-out of publicly available electric charging points which are being installed in Q-Park locations across the UK. When the first charging hub goes live, Q-Park's state-of-the-art parking system will provide users with an integrated and seamless experience, enabling them to enter and exit the facility to utilise the charging hub with no need for a ticket.

Adam Bidder, Managing Director of Q-Park commented "We were naturally delighted to come to an agreement with bp. It is refreshing to work with a business who have the same desire to create innovative mobility solutions for the future. This mobility hub partnership is an industry first within the UK and we are looking forward to support bp in rolling out the installations over the coming weeks and months."

Christoph Van Belle, Senior Manager, EV Fleet Charging Hubs of bp commented "The future of transportation mobility is extremely exciting. EV infrastructure is at the centre of our electrification strategy with a focus on fleets to help keep businesses moving. We are thrilled to be partnering with Q-Park who share our goals and vision for the future of mobility.
