WRAPPING UP TO COMBAT GLOBAL WARMING...
Some of Middlesbrough's best known vehicles are helping to spread the word on climate change.
And Mayor Andy Preston this week renewed his pledge to make Middlesbrough a leader on environmental issues.
The four bin wagons have been given a colourful makeover to help raise awareness and encourage people to recycle more.
The high-quality vinyl vehicle wraps were designed and fitted to four refuse collection vehicles (RCVs) by EPIC Media Group on behalf of Middlesbrough Council.
There set features four unique designs created by EPIC's in-house team.
Two are targeted at eliminating plastic being dumped in the sea, and carry the strapline ‘think before you throw' alongside images of turtles and seals.
The other two carry the strapline ‘greener future for Middlesbrough' and feature images of bees and water voles, two animals under local conservation watch.
Middlesbrough Mayor Andy Preston said: "It's never been more important for everyone to do their bit to protect the environment and help combat climate change.
"We can all recycle more and waste less, and by making lots of small changes, together we can make a big difference.
"These striking wraps on our bin wagons carry a clear and powerful message, and one that I know will resonate with people of all ages."
Kevin Murton, Managing Director of EPIC Media Group, said: "Projects like this are very exciting.
"From designing the concepts through to installation, our in-house team worked closely with the Council to deliver these striking trucks.
"We're really proud of these full vehicle wraps."
