Yorkshire Wolds brewery sponsors Bridlington half marathon for a second time

 

The team at a Wold Newton brewery are sponsoring a popular local sports event for the second time.

 

Wold Top Brewery is providing bespoke medals for finishers of this year's Bridlington Half Marathon on 3rdOctober and is also providing packs of beer as spot prizes for runners on the course.

 

Martin McPheatfrom organiser, Bridlington Road Runners said: "We're incredibly grateful to have Wold Top's support for another year. We were disappointed to have to cancel last year's race, so are really looking forward to this event.

 

"‘Brid Half', as it is affectionately known,was first held in 1983 and still attracts a large field of 700 runners from far and wide. This year's field includes entrants from Leeds, Ely, Thirsk and Holmfirth. Fingers crossed for good weather!"

 

The 13.1 mile course starts on the sea-front then heads off out into the countryside via Sewerby, Flamborough and Bempton before returning to Bridlington. One more loop out to Sewerby, passing through Sewerby Hall grounds, before returning to Bridlington and the iconic sea-front finish.

 

The race costs £25 to enter and entry is online athttps://bit.ly/EnterBridHalf. Closing date for entries is 27thSeptember.

 

Wold Top Brewery was founded by in 2003 and is located on the Mellor family farm at Hunmanby Grange near Filey. The team use home grown barley and water from the farm's borehole to produce a range of award winning cask, keg and bottled beers that are available throughout Yorkshire and nationwide.
