VIEWS SOUGHT ON NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN

LOCAL residents are being asked for their views on a neighbourhood plan for a Middlesbrough community.

Stainton and Thornton Parish Council has recently submitted its Draft Neighbourhood Plan to Middlesbrough Council for public examination.

The council is now conducting a six-week public consultation event which is live now and will run until 5pm on Monday, August 16.

Neighbourhood Plans were introduced in the 2011 Localism Act, and work alongside the Council's Local Plan to help determine where new homes and shops should go, or what places should look like within the designated area.

Copies of the draft plan and supporting documentation will be available to view and download from the Council's Neighbourhood Planning webpages relating to Stainton & Thornton at: www.middlesbrough.gov.uk/planning-and-housing/planning/planning-policy/neighbourhood-planning/stainton-and-thornton-neighbourhood-plan

If you wish to comment on the draft plan, the easiest way to respond is to complete an online response form, which can be accessed from the above webpages.

Responses can also be submitted by email to: planningpolicy@middlesbrough.gov.uk or via post to:

Planning Policy, Middlesbrough Council, PO Box 504, First Floor, Civic Centre, TS1 9FY.

If you wish to discuss any matters concerning the Neighbourhood Plan, please contact 01642 729065 or emailplanningpolicy@middlesbrough.gov.uk.
