MIDDLESBROUGH THEATRE IS BACK!

Middlesbrough Theatre is back and isploughing ahead with its plans to re-open on June 30th, despite the delay to Covid restrictions being fully lifted.

A month-long season of events will once again light up the stage after more than a year of darkness and will include performances by the theatre's resident professional and amateur companies, as well as the youth theatre.

The #BackOnStage season will launch on Wednesday 30thJune withIn the Footsteps of Giants,a world premiere, double bill from local playwright, David Tuffnell. 

Middlesbrough Youth Theatre will follow withHear our Song, an evening of feel-good songs, dances and monologues (Wednesday 7thJuly - Saturday 10thJuly).

The ever-popularLadyboys of Bangkokhave added two extra performances to their Middlesbrough shows to allow for social distancing and will now run from Monday 12th- Wednesday 14thJuly.

Rock for Heroesenjoy their first visit to the theatre, to be followed by Status Quo legend, Francis Rossi inI Talk Too Much, an intimate evening in which he shares his experiences of more than five decades of rock and roll.

Two Boro favourites also make a welcome return. David Benson and Jack Lane are back with three more episodes inDad's Army Radio Showand the Wild Murphy's bring Ireland to Middlesbrough withOne Night in Dublin.

The season is brought to a close by the amateurs of Middlesbrough Little Theatre who are delighted to be back on their home stage withBouncersby John Godber.

Audiences can be assured that every precaution is being taken to ensure their visit is safe and enjoyable. The theatre is proud to have been awarded the Society of London Theatre/UK Theatre "See It Safely" kite mark in recognition of the safety measures in place. To comply with government regulations, face masks must be worn at all times, except for those who are medically exempt.
