NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR BORO'S CIVIC COMMUNITY AWARDS

NOMINATIONS have opened to find people who have made a real difference in Middlesbrough in the last 12 months - including its 2021 Citizen of the Year.

The Civic Community Awards will return in 2021 for a third year celebrating local people who have made a difference.

The testing last 12 months has also seen unwavering community spirit, passion and creativity with extraordinary acts of kindness witnessed from people all over the town.

This year, the Awards will focus on celebrating the incredible local spirit, which has seen residents and organisations collaborating together to support vulnerable communities at this difficult time.

As with last year there is a special award for a Covid Hero and a new award for 2021 - Middlesbrough Children Matter.

The 2021 Middlesbrough Civic Community Awards categories are:

  • Citizen of the Year;
  • Covid Hero;
  • Health and Wellbeing Hero;
  • Helping People Learn;
  • Improving Job Opportunities;
  • Improving Our Neighbourhoods;
  • Making People Happier;
  • Middlesbrough Children Matter.

If you know an individual, organisation or business who have made a positive or selfless contribution to the lives of Middlesbrough residents, we want to hear their story. There are lots of heroes in Middlesbrough and we want to celebrate them.
