Yorkshire distillery launches first single malt whisky with a peated finish
The team at Yorkshire's first single malt whisky distillery have launched their latest bottling.
Filey Bay Peated Finish single malt whisky is Hunmanby based Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery's first foray into peated whisky.
"After the success of our 'finished' releases last year, we're really excited to announce our next step, Filey Bay Peated Finish. This bottling isa much anticipated first, as we give our light and fruity signature whisky a subtle sweet smokiness by finishing in peated casks," said Spirit of Yorkshire Director and Co-Founder, David Thompson.
The distillery's Whisky Director, Joe Clark added: "Opinions can sometimes be divided on peated whisky, andthis release strikes very much at the middle ground for those who love peated whisky and those who don't.
"Our Peated Finish is all about balance, light, sweet and coastal with flavours of vanilla, caramel, subtle peat smoke and citrus. It's the perfect dram for any whisky fan."
Filey Bay Peated Finish, 46% ABV costs £60 and is available from the distillery shop, online at spiritofyorkshire.com and from selected specialist retailers nationwide.
Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery is Yorkshire's first single malt whisky distillery and is one of only a handful of distilleries that grows the barley for whisky production. It is a collaboration between farmer and brewer, Tom Mellor from Wold Top Brewery and business partner, David Thompson.
