Stage set for Salisbury Group at the Roundhouse
London's famous Roundhouse has appointed Salisbury Group as its engineering maintenance service provider. The venue, which will reopen to audiences in July, is one of the capital's landmark creative and entertainment hubs.
Salisbury Group was chosen following a competitive bidding process and the contract is for two years with the potential to extend for a further two years. The service provider has been working closely with Roundhouse to plan for the return of large public events, while supporting it with ongoing maintenance services during the lockdown period.
The Roundhouse is a performing arts, events and concert venue that welcomes the world's biggest names in music, theatre, circus and spoken word. The Grade II* listed building was a former railway engine repair shed before being transformed into a venue over 50 years ago. As well as a location for plays, gigs, and shows, the Roundhouse supports almost 7,500 young people each year to develop their creative and life skills in the Roundhouse Studios, a creative centre for young people.
The agreement is for a full range of mechanical and electrical engineering services at the 3,000-person capacity venue. Salisbury Group was appointed for its partnership philosophy, technical expertise, and demonstrable ability to ensure compliance at a location which historically has seen tens of thousands of visitors every week.
