North Yorkshire business launches new dressing to raise funds for charity

The team at a North Yorkshire rapeseed oilbusiness has launched a new limited-edition dressing as part of a fundraising drivefor its charity of the year.

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil's new Lemon and Lavender Gin Dressing is a collaboration between the Thixendale business and Bedale based Masons of Yorkshire and is a combination of local ingredients including award-winning extra virgin Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil and award- winning English Lavender Gin.

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil's 2021 charity of the year is Hull based registered charity Downright Special. It was established in 2007 andassists families and professionals in all aspects of the care and education of children with Down syndrome, supporting them to achieve their full potential and promoting successful inclusion.

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil's Production Manager Mathew Dixon commented:

"It's great to collaborate with other local producers, even better when we can raise money for an excellent charity at the same time. So far this year we haveraised over £4,000 for Downright Special and we're hoping that sales of this delicious dressing will help to raise even more money.

"Downright Special receives no funding from statutory agencies like the local authority or NHS, so we'reproud to support them and help them to build a better future for children with Down syndrome in Hull and East Yorkshire."

The dressing is perfect drizzled on salad leaves, goat's cheese and beetroot. It is available from farm shops, delis and independent retailers throughout Yorkshire. 35p from the sale of each bottle will be donated to the charity. Members of the public can also donate via aVirgin Money Giving Page which sends every donation directly to Downright Special.

Downright Special was formed by a group of parents who set out to provide support to each other and any other parents who had children with Down syndrome.

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil was established in 2008 by the Palmer family on their farm in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds. They produce a range ofoils, dressings and mayonnaisebased on their award-winning Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil that ispressed, blended, bottled and labelled on the family farm.
