Independent Sheffield Optometrist invests in 3D imaging equipment
An independent Sheffield optometrist has invested significantly in new equipment for advanced eye examinations.
Alex Gage, who owns practices in Woodseats and Crosspool, has invested in the latest model OCT (Ocular Coherence Tomography)3D imaging scanner for his Woodseats practice.
"OCT helps to safeguard eye health by providing a detailed picture of the back of the eye. It is a highly advanced screening system that checks for potentially serious conditions such as glaucoma, diabetes, age-related macular degeneration, vitreous detachments and more," says Gage
"As part of our Covid-19 secure measures, we have incorporated OCT scans into all of our examinations. We capture a digital photograph of the surface of the eye to cross-reference areas of concern and as a benchmark for future scans.
"It's a big investment for a small, independent business, but one that enhances the service that we can offer to our patients, so it's worth it."
Alex Gage Family Optometrist specialises in family care, sports vision and behavioural optometry and has practices at857 Chesterfield Road, Woodseats and48 Sandygate Road,Crosspool.
