Diversity on the table: Utopia unveils the future of tableware
2021 product launches offer multiple opportunities to create distinctive style

Utopia has unveiled its product launches for 2021, and through them the company is predicting the tableware trends for the coming 12 months.  With hundreds of new lines covering everything from classic tableware to funky night lights, and ‘barely there’ glassware to art deco-inspired cutlery, the 2021 portfolio is arguably the company’s most diverse ever.

Which is just as well – as diversity is increasingly the major trend in tableware design.  “The demand for tableware and barware that’s different, that makes a statement, is just getting stronger and stronger,” says Utopia’s marketing director Kathryn Oldershaw.  “The variety of our new lines is designed to help operators find their own distinctive style.”

One of the key design elements for 2021 is nature – with earthy, pastoral tableware designs that will be equally suited to presenting comfort foods, such as a rich beef bourguignon, and colourful ‘eye candy’ recipes such as deconstructed sweet and sour pork.  Typical of this trend is the new Umbria Briar collection, a vitrified porcelain that’s hand finished and features a wash of subtle colour.  The new Pistachio design, on the other hand, features rich colours that bring depth and substance to the table.

The glassware choice for 2021 mixes the exotic with the classic.  The range include the new Raffles series, a fine cut crystal collection that’s rakishly stylish and evokes the fun and frivolity of the Roaring Twenties.   Then there’s the new Ghost Zero glasses from Nude, which use a special ‘Ion Shielding’ technology that makes them very strong yet incredibly light – barely there, in fact!

Utopia has presented its 2021 launches in its new New Products leaflet which is available to download from utopia-tableware.com.  It includes even more products than usual since it also features some of Utopia’s 2020 launches, which, because of the pandemic, didn’t get the profile they deserved.

“Summer 2021 is going to be absolutely vital for so many businesses in the HoReCa sector,” says Oldershaw.  “In creating the 2021 portfolio we have been very mindful of the need to give operators an extensive and contrasting choice of on-trend concepts and ideas, to offer them maximum creative potential.”

Utopia is the market leader in tableware and glassware for the hospitality industry.  The company’s products are available through distributors.  Alongside a dynamic and innovative range of tableware, cutlery, glassware, plastic drinkware, barware and foodservice equipment, Utopia also offers a specialist branded glassware service.  For more information and details of local stockists visit www.utopia-tableware.com, email info@utopia-tableware.com or call +44 (0) 1246 858800.
