AMCO TARGET RETAIL LOGISTICS SECTOR AND BRCGS

CERTIFIED BUSINESSES SUPPLY CHAIN

Amco are picking up on the industry demand for specialist storage and transport in the retail sector by seeking partnerships and new customers that require service levels to the BRCGS (Brand Reputation Compliance Global Standards) for Storage and Distribution.

Amco are accredited with an ‘AA' rating for the BRCGS for Storage and Distribution. The Standard is specifically designed for logistics operations dealing with Food, Packaging, and Consumer Products.

BRCGS is a leading brand and consumer protection organisation, used by over 29,000 certified suppliers in over 130 countries. The BRCGS Standard is a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) recognised certification program previously known and recognised as the BRC (British Retail Consortium) Global Standard.

BRCGS is now a fundamental requirement for leading retailers, manufacturers and food service organisations. It offers assurance for product safety, quality, integrity and legality with clearly defined risk-based requirements. The Standard is for Food Safety (including retailers, manufacturers and food service organisations), Packaging Materials, (including manufacturers of primary, secondary and tertiary packaging materials) and Consumer Products (designed for global specifiers, retailers and manufacturers),  for general merchandise, personal care and household goods.

The Standard allows the supply chain of product certification to be completed, in the case of food, from grower and processer, to the manufacturer and then from manufacturer to retailer (and internet shopping). The Standard is designed to reflect best practice and facilitate a process of continuous improvement through risk-based product safety management systems.

Amco's flagship Distribution Centre, Amco Park is a BRCGS certified site and their transport fleet is certified to carry food, packaging materials and consumer products to the standards laid down for health, safety and hygiene.

Amco continually ensure that the quality and safety of products and packaging is maintained during their warehousing and distribution and that customer confidence is upheld with products stored and transported in a way that maintains their safety quality and legality.

Amco Sales Director, Paul Andrews said. "We have many years' expertise in retail distribution and storage, with customers from a number of sectors including animal food, confectionery, drinks, food packaging, electrical hardware, personal care and cosmetics. It is our intention to further develop relationships, diversify our current revenue streams, expand on our existing customer base and obtain new customers from within the British retail supply chain".

He continues. "The current Coronavirus Pandemic has led to a boom in the world of online, with many organisations moving their business or selling goods online for the first time. This in turn has pushed the retail supply chain to provide exemplary service levels, levels that we at Amco can fulfil.

The current Global Standard is all about maintaining product safety and quality throughout the supply chain and working to this Standard demonstrates our continued commitment to driving up the quality of service, helping Amco to stand out amongst our competitors in a crowded market. The BRCGS Storage and Distribution Standard is globally recognised throughout the food and retail industry and every business with certification is presenting and achieving the required high levels of service. One of the benefits of Amco having ‘AA' standard is for Amco to be part of promoting and protecting a better food safety culture, delivering brand confidence and protecting the consumer.

We are here to support those businesses who need confidence in their transport provider and who are struggling to secure warehouse space or bonded warehouse space and may require access to specialised storage facilities and distribution services."

Emma Phillips, Amco's Senior Business Development Manager added. "Our team is highly experienced, any business that requires a supplier of warehousing and transport certified to this global standard can benefit from our geographical reach as well as tracking and reporting capabilities. Our dedicated transport fleet means customers get what they want, when they want it and we are accustomed to demand as our experience in the fast-paced automotive sector proves. We are available throughout the year for all businesses in the retail supply chain, whether required on a regular service or during their peaks."

With extensive experience in the Automotive, Fast Moving Consumer Goods and Waste industries, Amco are no stranger to delivering extremely high levels of service - accuracy, precision and multimodal logistic services are vital to their operations.

Being accredited and certified by BRCGS allows Amco to work alongside like-minded business in their mission to support a wider range of customers." Amco are dedicated to providing as much resource and infrastructure into opportunities as required", explains Andrews. "Thinking like the customer, we deliver supply chain solutions that exceed expectations, with cost leadership at the forefront of our mind".

About CBW Resources T/A Amco

Intelligent Logistics Consultancy and Sourcing

CBW was established in 2010 as a consultancy practice helping logistics businesses overcome challenges, implementing processes and assisting with complex issues on product sourcing and importing from non-EU countries. CBW has predominantly been involved in the Automotive OEM and parts supply chain.

About Today's Amco - Reliable, Economic UK and International Logistics Services

Founded in 1983 as Amco Services (Motorsport), the business was originally focused on providing specialist Logistics, Shipping and Freight Services to Formula 1 teams and the Motorsport Industry. Amco Services, its sister company, was formed to handle all other general freight and transport.

As the two companies grew, it became evident that there were increasing levels of ‘cross-over' between the two businesses and in order to streamline and further improve services for customers, they consolidated to form Amco Services (International) Ltd.

The formation of a group structure in 2019 positioned Amco Group as a Third-Party Logistics (3PL) provider with the ability to deliver services of a 4PL with extra added value services. Amco Group had taken the 3PL model a step further with the successful launch and integration of Amco Tooling and Amco Packaging divisions.

Today, Amco is based in a flagship logistics and warehouse centre. Amco Park is 110,000 square feet general and customs bonded warehouse facility and logistics centre, built to a high specification on an impressive 10.7-acre site in Redditch close to exceptional travel networks for land, air and sea freight services.

Amco's highly experienced team specialises in the supply of high-quality UK, European and International Warehousing and Logistics services to the automotive, FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) and waste industries. These industries demand extremely high levels of service, accuracy, precision and multimodal logistics services vital to their operations.

Amco has sophisticated and robust systems in order to satisfy customers demands and to deliver a full, integrated range of logistics services to the highest standards possible. They aim to provide reliable, fast logistics services with fixed costs achieved through the use of ISO standard work processes, investment in technology and the employment of reliable distribution and warehousing systems.

Bringing ongoing efficiencies into supply chains and offering fully integrated services will be key aims for Amco as it has been for CBW, as will the extension of their customer-facing online systems, geo-fencing technology and detailed tracking systems, delivering even greater levels of information, control and efficiency to customers across the globe.

Amco has a clearly defined strategic plan for growth and diversification both organically and through acquisition going forward and the knowledge base that the new board and shareholders have will help to consolidate the current position and allow the business to further develop.
