Harrogate, Yorkshire, 11thMarch 2021: The global pandemic has ushered in transformation on a major scale, and on a daily basis, from relationships to working habits and lifestyle behaviours. Change for us all - now and in the future - is guaranteed, but how we react to, navigate and manage change differs dramatically from person to person. A new, Yorkshire-based business, focused specifically on change, has officially opened its doors just in time, as we approach the end of Lockdown 3.0. MayDey Ltd (www.maydey.co.uk) works with people across the UK and internationally who want expert, caring and practical help to navigate change in their life.

In August 2020, 915 American innovators, developers, communications and social change experts were asked by the Pew Research Center and Elon University to consider what life could be like in 2025; 86% said the pandemic will bring about some kind of change. Their broad and nearly universal view was that people's relationship with technology will deepen as larger segments of the population come to rely more on digital connections for work, education, healthcare, daily commercial transactions and essential social interactions. Businesses like MayDey, offering a mix of virtual and (when possible) in-person support, will be vital in this context.

MayDey Founder and Director, Carolyn Hobdey, spent two decades building a successful corporate career working for some of the world's largest companies. With an enviable knowledge of change management, she led myriad cultural transformations, building a reputation for her moral compass and challenge of the unacceptable - describing herself as "the grit in the oyster".

Carolyn Hobdey says, "It may be that your life has all the hallmarks of success and that you have everything to be grateful for, but you just feel empty, unfulfilled, finding yourself asking ‘is this it?' This feeling of loss and being lost is likely to intensify for some of us when ‘normality' kicks in after lockdown and restrictions are lifted. Through MayDey's online courses, workshops and webinars, books, retreats and membership platform, my aim is to help those people clarify what they want out of life, why it matters, and learn how to build a plan to achieve the life they desire. A life where they define what happiness means for them."

As the first day of spring approaches (20thMarch) - which is also theInternational Day of Happiness- Carolyn Hobdey hopes that MayDey can reach and support the many people who will be experiencing fear of the unknown and life/work challenges. MayDey's Fathom Framework is a step-by-step method that helps clarify what people want out of life and why it matters, establish the right ‘crew' using its unique ‘Collaboration Compass' technique and build a different life. A life where you define what ‘happiness' means. In this video, Carolyn talks about happiness versus positivity:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_AGr-tH3U7w.

About Carolyn Hobdey

Despite 20 years spent building a successful corporate career working, Carolyn Hobdey's personal life was a self-confessed "mess". Carolyn's progressively more senior roles earned her a seat at the boardroom table leading internationally recognisable brands, where she specialised in Human Resources. With a first degree in English, Carolyn supported her practical experience with a post-graduate qualification in HR. Later followed a Masters in Lean Operations at Cardiff where she won their inaugural award for Logistics, Operations & Manufacturing.

Alongside her professional and academic achievements, however, Carolyn was managing huge turbulence at home driven by a lifetime of low self-esteem. Poor health and perpetual heartbreak peppered her personal life whilst she tried to hide her secret.

Mid-2018, Carolyn's life imploded. Suicide beckoned. Picking herself up she began to re-assemble the disparate parts of her shattered life but, more challengingly, her identity.

Having put back the accepted tenets of ‘success', Carolyn realised she no longer wanted the life she'd once had. She founded MayDey Limited and began using her experiences to help others facing change. Taking everything she'd learnt professionally and personally about change, Carolyn built a business dedicated to helping those wanting to achieve a happy life.

Carolyn is based in Yorkshire, but works with clients across the UK. She is passionate about her business and being an author, but in her downtime she learns to box and weight-train as well as Latin & Ballroom Dancing. She also sings in a community choir and is a car enthusiast.
