London 15thDecember 2020: Caper, the UK-based start-up providing immersive adventures to families, releases a new twelve-part adventure,Snow Season, for parents and children (aged 4-8 years) to enjoy together this holiday season.

With the launch of Snow Season, Caper aims to provide families with a welcome dose of active, creative fun in the days leading up to Christmas. Caper's unique approach to using digital technology to encourage real-world play, is proving popular with parents with over 7,000 of them downloading Caper since the company launched in April 2020 at the start of lockdown. Caper also caught the attention of LEGO Ventures who have invested in the UK-based start-up.

Ben Geliher, CEO and Co-founder of Caper, formerly Lead Producer at Mind Candy, said:

"This year has been extremely tough for everyone, and the pressures on family life have been immense. We know that this year's holiday season may look and feel a little different, so we have madeSnow Seasonto offer families a break from the stress, and to have something fun to look forward to doing together in the days leading up to Christmas.Snow Seasonis like an activity-based advent calendar, with a new mini-adventure to do each day for 12 days.

Caper is uniquely designed to balance the digital experience kids crave with the active, social play outdoors that parents know is good for them. By encouraging real-world, nature-focused play, exercise and craft activities to do together as a family, Caper aims to tackle the damaging effects that sedentary lifestyles and a lack of connection to nature are having on children. We have designed the app to bring people together through play, as opposed to the solo, addictive , screen-based digital play we are so used to seeing our kids engage in, and which causes so much worry for many parents.  We think this is a hugely important and relevant issue, and were able to raise our concerns with the Prime Minister when we showcased Caper at Number 10 as part of London Tech Week."

Graham Denney, Chief Creative Officer and Co-founder of Caper said:

"Snow Seasonis a new 12-part adventure set in the magical world of Spellville. It stars Holly Goodspell, a friendly witch who runs a magic shop called The Wishmill. Snow Season is a busy time of year for Holly, and she needs your family's help, casting spells and making things for her customers.

Snow Seasonfeatures 12 mini-adventures, designed to be played one-a-day.  Activities include trips to the park to cast spells, working out with Master Fizzdrill, and making winter-themed crafts like snowflake crowns and finger-puppets. We've also sprinkled in some basic mindfulness techniques and energy-building exercises, to help reduce anxiety and encourage active play.

The world of Spellville is full of fun characters and exciting family activities, andSnow Seasonis a great way to experience that magic over the winter holidays!"

...

A ‘caper' is an original story designed to be played by the family together outdoors, but we also offer a number of weather-proof indoor options such as den-making, crafting and creative play. Each caper begins with a video phone call to get the story started, and warm-up exercises to get everyone moving. Caper ‘missions' keep screen time to a minimum and have a real-world focus interwoven into the narrative of each adventure, helping reconnect families to each other and the world around them through engaging characters and exciting activities.

Caper is currently available oniOSandAndroid. The new caper ‘Snow Season'will be available  for pre-order in December for £1.99 and will be released on December 13th.  Caper's original eight-part series,Captain Redtail, is available now for £4.99.
