New British owner acquires UK manufacturer Ribcraft and reveals exciting plans for expansion

One of British manufacturing's success stories, Ribcraft UK, based in Yeovil, Somerset, has been bought by UK entrepreneur Toby Adams and looks set to expand on the success it has already enjoyed in growing governmental, military and securities sectors as well as placing a larger emphasis on environmental sustainability.

Ribcraft was founded in the late eighties and has since gained an enviable reputation as the leading British builder of reliable and superbly manufactured Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBS).

Toby Adams was introduced to Ribcraft in 2009 when co-founding the award winning global franchise, The Yellow Boats.  Ribcraft Rigid Inflatable Boats provided the platform for success in what has become a leading brand in the tourism sector.

Enjoying great success in the industry and seeing a huge demand for more rigid inflatable boats, Toby embarked on investing in a Ribcraft license to manufacture in the United Arab Emirates and supply the increasing global demand for Ribcraft boats across the Middle East.

Following large government, military and securities contracts Toby acquired Ribcraft UK with a view to supporting the already substantially growing business.

Toby explains that present and future plans for the business are focused on enhanced after-sales support, with a view to ensuring the reputation built up by the company since the 1980s continues to reflect Ribcraft's core values of reliability, durability and unquestionable quality.

There will also be a strong focus on new and existing contracts for military and global demand in this sector with BREXIT offering increased opportunities and demand for the high performance patrol boats that Ribcraft is well known for manufacturing for UK and global markets.

Another exciting development will be the focus on environmental sustainability through carbon offsetting and the big launch of the new Ribcraft hybrid range.  The hybrid propulsion system has been designed to make Ribcraft boats the most advanced environmentally friendly patrol boats in the world.

Toby says, ‘I am really excited to be investing in and heading up this British manufacturer and it is good to be part of a very positive story at this time.  We are currently focusing on putting key people in place as well as looking at recruiting and expanding the Yeovil factory.'
