New romantic contemporary fiction - Ben Ellis - Headline Accent Press

Good afternoon,

Worthing-based author, Ben Ellis, has secured a book deal with leading publisher, Headline Accent Press, having self-published his first two books, and his romantic contemporary fiction novel, How We Got To Today, is due for release this Thursday 24th September. This is a huge success story for Ben who wrote most of his new novel in coffee shops, in between shifts at his day-job, and collecting his son from nursery. Ben Ellis didn't plan to write romance, especially not one in which the two protagonists break up in the first chapter, but it's already attracting rave reviews and is being compared to the likes of Jill Mansell, Mhairi McFarlane, David Nicholls and Graeme Simsion. The book is currently available on Netgalley:https://www.netgalley.com/catalog/book/199249And we'll be getting paperbacks later this week. If you'd like to set up an interview with Ben Ellis, or if you'd like to read and review How We Got To Today, just let us know. Ben is open to editorial commissions to help spread the word about his new book too. More information below in the Advance Information Media Sheet.

Alternately funny, tragic, and life-affirming, Ben Ellis'How We Got To Todayis a delightful mix of the everyday and the surreal, the romantic and the comic. Perfect for fans of Jill Mansell, Mhairi McFarlane, Graeme Simsion and David Nicholls.

"A cross between The Rosie Project & One Day"

How can you find love, when you've lost sight of yourself?

Sheridan doesn't know what he looks like. There's nothing wrong with his vision, it's just that he's the only person in the world who can't see his own face.

Despite this, he has it all going for him: a good job as an optometrist, a nice home, and a wonderful girlfriend. All until Heidi, totally out of the blue, dumps him.

And to make matters worse, not only has she broken his heart, but she's disappeared. Distraught, Sheridan begins to search for her, and ends up finding himself along the way. . .

This is a story about how sometimes it's the people closest to us that see us the best and, if we lose sight of ourselves, can tell us who we really are.
