The Author School, co-founded by publishing entrepreneurs Helen Lewis and Abiola Bello, is celebrating its 5th birthday this year with five online sessions over three days before the UK's bank holiday weekend. The events are open to authors, agents and publishers around the world from self published authors to traditionally published authors and all in between!
Having to cancel the March classes in London due to you-know-what, and given the growing demand for online support and advice for authors online, they've decided to take their unique programme online!
Helen Lewis says, "If joining the festival isn't for you, we would still hugely appreciate if you could help us to spread the word about these online events - incredibly competitively priced and accessible to authors around the world."
Tickets are just £14 per class or £70 for the full program across three days - 24-26 August.

Abiola Bello says, "We're bringing you all the favourites from the classes we've hosted over the past five years, including a pitch panel with a leading literary agent, Clare Wallace from the Darley Anderson Agency, the author panel which sees successful authors share the highs and lows and lessons learned from their journey, our ‘how to get published class', which is always super popular, and Helen will, of course, be running a PR and Marketing masterclass as LitPR celebrates yet another award win - Best Publishing PR Agency 2020 - UK in the Southern Enterprise Awards."
Helen Lewis adds, "We've added a new class for the online festival - how to run a publishing business. We get a lot of enquiries from writers considering launching their own imprint or publishing house. As our indie publishing house, Hashtag Press, won Publisher of the Year (The People's Book Prize, 2020) we finally thought it might be a good idea to share our learnings over the years and offer some advice to those considering entering the publishing world!"
PR and Marketing class on 25th August 2-3pm - director of Literally PR, Helen Lewis, will be sharing tips that authors can take on board to complement PR campaigns, before, during and after a book launch:http://www.theauthorschool.com/book-your-space/what-you-should-be-doing-before-and-after-your-book-launches?
If you can't make any of the class times, there's no need to worry, as we will send everyone a link to view the recorded sessions in their own time. Everyone can re-watch the sessions too, of course!
It's a great opportunity to learn from successful authors about their own journeys, literary agents, and we are running a 'how to run your own publishing house' for anyone considering this path.
If you think this might be helpful to anyone you know, please do feel free to share the links.
