Success for Yorkshire Wolds brewery at digital independent beer awards

The team at a Wold Newton based brewery are celebrating after winning two awards in the North East division of an industry wide beer competition.

Wold Top Brewery's blonde beer, Wold Gold, and the brewery's first lager, Landmark Lager both won awards at the first SIBA Regional Digital Beer Awards 2020.

Wold Gold, 4.8% ABV won the gold award in thePremium Bitters (4.5 to 6.4%) category and gluten free Landmark Lager, 4.2% ABV won silver in the Lagers and Pilsners category in its first competition since it was launched earlier this year.

Wold Top's Brewery Manager, Alex Balchin is delighted with the awards: "Our team are committed to brewing great beers, so it's a credit to them to receive awards from brewers and industry experts.

"Awards like these help to enhance our reputation as a leading independent brewery and to encourage people to support local businesses. We're grateful to SIBA for helping to facilitate this."

The judging panel comprised beer sommeliers, experienced beer judges and brewers and experienced brewers.

Both beers are available in cask and kegs in pubs and in bottles from independent retailers and online from the brewery website.
