Mixed Summer Show

Throughout August, Whitewater Gallery Polzeath celebrates the return of summer visitors with a mixed exhibition by some of Cornwall's very best painters. New work by Luke Knight, whose Cornish landscape painting Wish You Were Here beat thousands of European entries to win the Barcelona International Gallery Award last year, will be on show alongside humorous scene paintings by artist Simeon Stafford. Painter Suki Wapshott will be exhibiting semi-abstracted landscapes inspired by Cornwall's north coast, while local artist Ness Lannen will be exhibiting airbrushed paintings which capture the beauty of Cornwall's rolling ocean waves. Prize winning artist Ian Hargreaves will show his classically beautiful paintings of Italy, alongside a collection of high energy watercolours of Polzeath and Daymer Bay by artist Rob Walker, and softly hued, elemental landscapes by Peter Turnbull, who is a graduate of the Royal College of Art. Complementing these paintings will be bronze sculptures by Chris Buck, silver and ceramics from award winning artist Rachael Osborne, glass by Jenny Ayrton, and pottery by Hugh West, including his inspirational new 'Moon Jars'. Visitors to Whitewater can expect a warm and Covid safe welcome this summer, thanks to hand sanitisers on entry and a new one-way route for exploring the gallery. In addition, visitors can book a half hour parking slot at the gallery, and clients who want an even safer gallery experience can arrange a private viewing, bookable through Whitewater's website.
