CUSTOMERS' SANITISATION SURPRISE ON SUPER SATURDAY

After 13 weeks in lockdown, one hairdressing salon in Staffordshire reopened on Super Saturday with asanitisation boothto cleanse people on arrival.

81 Rose Garden in Newcastle under Lyme, Staffs, owned by entrepreneur Tony Trowers - CEO of The Pillar Box Group, and his partner Jen Regan have taken extraordinary steps to keep their customers safe.

Not only have they erected Perspex screens between customers and cashiers, barriers between workstations and backwashes and kitted out their stylists with full PPE, but at the door of the salon is a state of the art sanitisation booth, resembling a public phone box.

The booth, which is fitted with a camera and a computer for facial recognition, scans the customer's face and takes their temperature.

If their temperature is normal, the door automatically admits the customer into the booth.

When inside the booth, the customer is sprayed withVirusZero sanitising agent in the form of a light mist to kill the Coronavirus within just a few seconds with no risk to the skin, breathing or clothes, only then will they be allowed entry into the salon.

Tony Trowers' secret weapon is  VirusZero - chlorine dioxide liquid with nano technology. It has been used for infection control in North Korea in the industrial, agricultural, life and food sectors and in Singapore at airports, government offices, schools, libraries and museums to help prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.

It is the result of three months of work sourcing the best in class sanitising products and PPE and working with experts and medics from around the world including Harley Street doctor Dr Aamer Khan who has been researching the subject.

Dr Khan explains: "Chlorine dioxide has shown to be effective in inactivating various bacteria and viruses. It is an ideal non-specific antimicrobial agent at concentrations harmless to humans to disinfect rooms, prevent human infection and slow down viral spread.

"It should be considered as another line of defence and extra protection until effective specific countermeasures are developed in the form of a vaccine. The bactericidal and virucidal properties of chlorine dioxide, coupled with its safety profile, in the nano-technology form, makes it an ideal tool for ongoing protection against environmental pathogens that are harmful to humans."

Tony Trowers said: "VirusZero is an excellent defence tool against the virus while no vaccine or specific medication for Covid-19 exists.

"I will use it to protect our customers until a vaccine is found.

"I have also sourced digital surveillance face recognition technology which detects rapid increases in body temperature."

"Until we were faced with the Covid-19 pandemic I had never thought about PPE or sanitising products - now I am an expert in them!

"This technology and its applications could really help other businesses like ours and aid the successful reopening of pubs, restaurants, medical centres, schools - every aspect of British life!

"With products like these we can not only get the hairdressing industry, but Britain, back on the road to recovery."
